What is NATO LIVE?
NATO LIVE is a public-source security monitoring dashboard focused on NATO, NATO member states and global security developments.
The site is presented as NATO & Global Security Monitor and its main mission is: Live monitoring of NATO & global security developments.
The public web address is NatoSecWatch.com.
NATO LIVE is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by NATO.
What does NATO LIVE monitor?
NATO LIVE brings together publicly available information from official authorities, NATO and military organizations, national news media, specialist defence media and selected OSINT/X sources.
The system is designed to surface developments involving politics, intelligence, cyber activity, land forces, air power, naval activity, armed conflict and terrorism.
LIVE
LIVE shows the newest stories currently available in the system. Items are ordered with the newest publication dates first, while publisher-provided English summaries are preferred when available.
The feed refreshes automatically. NEWS SEARCH IN shows the countdown to the next source search.
When a search is running, the timer displays PULLING. The next five-minute countdown starts only after the current polling cycle has completely finished.
HISTORY
HISTORY lets you search and review previously collected stories. It is useful when a story has moved out of the latest LIVE view but remains in the local NATO LIVE database.
Source Type

AIRNATO or NATO-member air forces, fighter aircraft, military aircraft, helicopters, drones and air operations.

TERRORISMTerrorist attacks, terror plots, terrorist cells, suspected terrorism and counter-terrorism worldwide. TERRORISM is global.
Multi-category stories
A story can have more than one category when multiple dimensions are genuinely relevant.
Examples: a terror plot disrupted by MI5 may appear as TERRORISM + INTELLIGENCE; a NATO-member government approving fighter aircraft may appear as POLITICS + AIR.
Non-NATO conflicts do not automatically receive LAND, AIR, NAVAL or CYBER merely because those capabilities are used. Those NATO-specific categories require NATO/NATO-member involvement or a clear European/North American security connection.
NATO COUNTRIES
The country filter on the right shows stories genuinely linked to the selected NATO member.
An item matches a country when that country is the source country or when the specific country, nationality or recognized alias is explicitly related to the story.
A generic NATO story is not automatically assigned to all NATO members.
NATO PULSE
NATO PULSE shows the latest five updates from official NATO or NATO-member sources only.
NEWS and OSINT sources are excluded from NATO PULSE.
Verification
RED — REPORTEDTypically a single third-party source or early OSINT reporting.
YELLOW — MULTIPLE SOURCESThe same event is supported by multiple independent sources.
GREEN — CONFIRMEDAn official source is part of the reporting.
Official government or military X accounts are treated as OFFICIAL. Regular OSINT/X accounts begin as REPORTED and do not become CONFIRMED solely because they are widely shared.
Source Connections
Click the CONNECTED badge in the source panel to open the Source Connections view.
Sources are shown as LIVE or OFFLINE. OFFLINE sources display a short diagnostic reason such as HTTP 403, timeout, connection error or no validated articles.
Official X accounts
Selected official military X accounts, including U.S. command accounts, are treated as OFFICIAL sources when retrieved successfully through the public RSS/X bridge.
Other selected X accounts remain OSINT sources and retain the REPORTED verification level unless corroborated by independent or official reporting.
Time Zones
The time bar shows the current time in Moscow, Berlin, Paris, London and Washington to make it easier to compare international developments across regions.
News Ticker
The ticker displays recent relevant stories with publisher and age. It uses recent publication times supplied by publishers and is independent of temporary country/source/category filters.
Relevant terrorism events may receive a BREAKING label when they meet the site's current breaking-news criteria.
How to read a story
Each item may show publication time, source country, headline, publisher, category badges, verification status and a publisher-provided summary.
Click the headline to open the original source.
How are summaries handled?
NATO LIVE uses publisher-provided summaries when available. It does not invent an AI summary when the publisher has not supplied suitable summary text.
Non-English material may be translated in the background where supported.
How are categories tested?
The classification system is tested against large sets of gray-zone scenarios designed to detect false positives and ambiguous category assignments.
The current pre-launch classifier was validated against a 5,000-case regression suite covering NATO and non-NATO conflicts, terrorism, intelligence, cyber, military domains and political overlap.
Source criticism
NATO LIVE is a monitoring tool, not an intelligence authority. Automated classification and source aggregation can make mistakes.
Early OSINT reporting can change rapidly, official statements may reflect an organization's own perspective, and breaking-news details may later be corrected.
For important decisions, always review the original source and seek corroboration from multiple reliable sources.
